Privacy policy.
What we collect, why, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights. In plain language.
Last updated · October 4, 2026
The short version
- We only collect what we need to answer your request and carry out your shoot.
- No reselling, no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
- Your files are delivered through an end-to-end encrypted link.
- A question or an access request: contact@soreva.ca.
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the version française prevails.
1. Who we are
Soreva is an aerial content studio based in Québec, in Montréal and Sherbrooke. We produce drone photos and videos of properties and their neighbourhoods for real estate brokers. In this policy, “we” means Soreva and “you” means anyone who visits soreva.ca or sends us information.
2. Person in charge of the protection of personal information
Soreva’s founder acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information. For any question, request or complaint, write to contact@soreva.ca with “Personal information” in the subject line.
3. What we collect
When you write to us
Through the contact form or by email: your name, your email address, your phone number (optional), the property’s address and type, and the content of your message.
When you book
If you use online booking: your name, your email and the time slot you choose. If an online payment is requested, it is processed directly by our payment provider: we never see or store your card number.
To carry out the shoot
The property’s address, access instructions and the contact details of the people to reach on site. The images we produce show the exterior of the property and its surroundings.
When you browse the site
The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. It keeps a few technical preferences in your browser, such as whether you’ve already seen the intro animation, which boxes you’ve ticked in the prep checklist or the last tracking code you looked up. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. If audience measurement is enabled, it relies on a tool that sets no cookies and only produces aggregate statistics.
4. Why we use it
- To answer your requests and prepare a quote.
- To plan, carry out and deliver the shoot, and handle the included revision.
- To invoice and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
- To obtain flight authorizations when required.
- To improve the site using aggregate, anonymous statistics.
We don’t use your information for any other purpose without your consent, and we make no decision based exclusively on automated processing.
5. Consent
By sending us your information, you consent to its use for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawing it may, however, prevent us from providing the service you asked for.
The site is not intended for people under 14.
6. Service providers and disclosure to third parties
We never sell or rent your information. We rely on a few service providers, who only access it to provide their service:
| Service | Use | Main location |
|---|---|---|
| statichost.eu | Site hosting | Sweden |
| Form.taxi | Forwards the contact form to our inbox | Austria |
| Proton | Email and encrypted file delivery | Switzerland |
| GitHub | Internal, private order list (property address, email, date, package) | United States |
| Cal.com | Online booking, if you use it | United States |
| Stripe | Card payment, if you choose it | United States, Canada |
| Open-Meteo | Weather conditions shown on the site | Europe |
| OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) | Maps and address search in our tools | Europe |
| Gouvernement du Québec | Aerial imagery for the shot preview | Québec |
When your browser displays an image, a map or the weather, the service involved technically receives your IP address. An address you type into our tools (light planner, airspace checker, shot preview) is sent to the address search service to be located; we don’t keep it.
The tracking page shows your shoot’s progress from a record kept by Soreva and published with the site, encrypted with your tracking code: without that code, nobody can find or read it. It only holds the date, the municipality, the package and the current stage: never your name, address or contact details. It is deleted once the job is complete. The property address and your email are kept only in our private internal list, to organize the shoot and write to you.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to an aviation authority to obtain a flight authorization.
7. Information disclosed outside Québec
Some of our service providers are located outside Québec. Before entrusting them with personal information, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection there, as the law requires, and we limit what we send them to what is strictly necessary.
8. Retention
- Requests that don’t go ahead: deleted no later than 12 months after the last exchange.
- Client files and invoices: kept as long as tax laws require, generally six years.
- Production files: kept for no more than 12 months after delivery, then deleted, unless agreed otherwise.
At the end of these periods, the information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Files are delivered through end-to-end encrypted Proton Drive links, and access to information is limited to the people who need it for their work. No system is infallible, but we apply reasonable measures proportionate to the sensitivity of the information.
10. Images, neighbours and privacy
We film the exterior of properties with the seller’s consent, obtained through the broker. We avoid framing people in an identifiable way and lingering on neighbouring properties. On request, we blur a face, a licence plate or part of a neighbouring property.
11. Your rights
At any time, you may:
- find out whether we hold information about you and access it;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent to its use;
- ask that it no longer be disseminated or that a link to it be de-indexed, where the law allows;
- obtain the information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format.
Write to us at contact@soreva.ca. We reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you may contact Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information.
12. Confidentiality incidents
We keep a register of confidentiality incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we promptly notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned.
13. Changes
We may update this policy, for example if we change service providers. The date of the latest update appears at the top of the page.
